City of Angles I
It was not my original intension to create a city structure, but as the piece gained shape, with it's tall rusted towers and claustrophobic spaces, I was put in mind of some city of lost souls - like the city of Dis in Gehenna, from Dante's Inferno.
Even though the pieces are assembled with a specific order in mind, they are intended to hide the possiblity of unrest within the areas that can't be seen. A chaos imprisoned within walls.
The sculpture is made in three sections, that can be separated and placed in a number of ways, allowing different patterns of structure to be created.
The sculpture is made from weathered steel and has been finished with wax.
Measuring a minimum of H 450 x L 600 x W 300, it's dimension vary depending upon the placement of the seperate elements.
